Getting back into the "groove"

School and work (for me) began again this past Tuesday after our Christmas break. The kids were excited to return to school to see their friends again. Owen, however is a mess ... really it's almost as though we're starting from scratch all over again - he is tired and miserable at the end of the school day! Hopefully this will be short lived and he will adjust again quickly - the boys went to bed at 7pm tonight so I'm also hoping that will help! And in an effort to make things run more smoothly in the morning, Kristina and I made the lunches tonight and I laid out the boys' clothes for tomorrow already.

Kristina had her first volleyball game of the year after school today and for the first time, her team won! Congratulations girls! We can definitely see an improvement already as the girls continue to practice! Kristina also has a busy social calendar - she is going to her friend's house after school tomorrow and is hoping to invite another friend over to sleep over from Friday to Saturday.

Brant has adjusted well to being back. He loves school and is happy to have his regular aide back - she was sick this past fall and took a short leave of absence for a couple of months but it's great to have her back, even though he also adjusted very well to the fill-in aides that he had and they were also fabulous :) He is looking forward to riding starting up again and was a bit put out that they won't be starting up again until later this month! He's definitely a child who likes routine! Tuesdays is after school program, Wednesdays is riding, Thursdays is OT - every morning he asks me what day it is and then tells me what his plans are for that day! He's a pretty smart cookie!

You may have noticed that after a long absence from blogging I'm back to being a bit more regular again! It's not really a New Year's resolution (because saying it is would just jinx it ;) but I'm definitely going to make more of an effort to post regularly. Other things that I'm hoping to improve on for the year 2012 are Home organization, being more on top of the kids' homework and signing planners/etc, Spiritual Growth, and doing some work ahead on the night before (eg laying out clothes and making lunches) so our mornings can run more smoothly. Oh and I recently re-discovered knitting and crocheting and I'm hoping to do a few projects in the near future! Should be fun! But as always, I'm a girl that doesn't like to commit to too much because I know that life gets in the way and I am a busy mom who also works full time - so I'll do my best but I refuse to beat myself up if I slip for a few days ... and then hopefully I will just hop right back on and make the next day a better one!

Hope everyone is enjoying 2012 so far! Another thing we are looking forward to in the next bit is a new niece! We just saw a photo of her 3D ultrasound yesterday and she is precious - can't wait to meet her!
