Keeping my home clean and organized has never been something I've excelled at. As a child I had a messy messy room. As an adult I do my best, but I find I have a hard time letting go of some things - I figure I may need them again someday! As a result I end up having clutter. Not to the point of those shows where there's so much crap in the house that you can't even walk through - but enough to make it look junky. I have a shelf in my kitchen that always has extra papers, pens, etc on it. I have limited storage space and the extra stuff just gets put somewhere but nowhere in particular. I need to learn this skill that some people seem to have been born with, this skill of being organized!
I have been slowly but surely trying to get the extras we don't need out of the house. Because money has been a bit tight lately, I divide the stuff I'm getting rid of into one of a few categories: garbage, give away, sell. K's been helping me organize the stuff we're selling. I've sold a few things on the local facebook sell/swap site and also listed it up on craigslist. The stuff I give away usually goes to my sister or the local Bibles For Mission store.
It's a slow go but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day!
I have found a few other sites that have helpful hints to keep me focused on the task at hand. One good one I just discovered today is: http://www.home-storage-solutions-101.com/kitchen-organization.html and another, with a calendar of daily cleaning activities is: http://www.mysimplerlife.com/2012.htm
Bring on the challenge! 2012 is the year I will finally conquer this Giant!

I hear you - Clutter is a battle with me too.. we have a crawl space full of stuff that I need to go through. We honestly never unpacked some boxes of books etc from our move 3 years ago, maybe time to get rid of them? I'll have to check out your links.
