So last week was week 4 and I was almost doing full tasks and working 3-10 from Tues-Fri and Saturday from 7-2. This week I am back to my normal shifts which are Tues-Fri from 3-11 and Saturday from 7-3.
I am finding these shifts are really hard for me now. The first 3 weeks of my GRTW were done during daytime hours and I found them manageable. These last two weeks have been pure torture for me. Ever since my concussion I have a much harder time falling to sleep and staying asleep. When I worked days I could go to bed earlier and still be asleep at a decent time. Now I don't get home until 11pm so I'm often not sleeping until 1 or 2am and then I have to be back up in the morning early to get the kiddos ready for school. I have tried taking naps but it just isn't the same as having a good solid block of sleep at night. As a result my headaches are back full force and my symptoms have spiked again. My doctor has recommended that I remain on my pain killers and sleeping pills and continue to have regular massage therapy for my neck and shoulder pain. I'm not sure how that works though with WCB if they will continue to cover this. My doctor would also like to see me working daytime hours but I'm not sure if that would be possible since daytime positions are really hard to come by where I work. I'm keeping my eye out for positions so hopefully one will come up or they can work something out for me.
On the plus side, other things are going well :) The kiddos are in the final month of school before summer holidays and have had a great year. Both have really blossomed socially and academically. Brant has been to birthdays for 10 of his classmates so far this year and he has enjoyed every one of them :) The kids have a field trip to Cultus Lake waterslides tomorrow and I'm really hoping the sun will make an appearance! Owen is looking forward to starting kindergarten in the fall - can't believe my baby is old enough to go to school already! The garden is off to a slow start because of the cold and rainy spring we've had but we're hoping the weather will brighten up and that we'll have a long late summer and still enjoy fresh fruits and veggies from the yard.
Well that's about it for now. I am working at 3pm so I better start getting ready :) Also waiting to hear back from WCB and the Head Injury place where I left messages to find out what the procedure is now that I'll be finished my GRTW as of Saturday. I've never done the WCB thing before so all this is so foreign to me.

Aw - dang. Sorry to hear that the symptoms are spiking. Prayers, Katrina -
Kind of funny - I was cleaning out my recipe basket yesterday and found your address - must have been from our old T21 Christmas card list ... I only did that one year, but it was fun ---
Thanks Tamara - I have to say, I am so ready to feel better! Too funny about the card list :) Was that when we were in Chilliwack already? I always loved those card exchanges!
